I thought nintendo sold an extra 3DS battery with more power that you could just replace yourself

The "New" 3DS makes me glad I haven't been able to afford the original 3DS.
From the looks of it, it's going to have at least a few games that you can only play on it. Such as the Xenoblade port. Also, something I just thought of...with the improved CPU...won't it be using more power? Hasn't the 3DS had power problems already or was that resolved at some point?
Other than seems like a neat upgrade. Especially the second analog "nub" thing. Though it seems like they could have gone for a full on circle pad with all the real estate on the face of this thing.

^ i was just talking about that with my friend

My feelings are quite conflicted...not sure if I should be excited or annoyed for this 'new' console...

But atm...i'm probs leaning towards annoyed. firstly...3ds is only just past their 3 year old mark. That's still pretty young and there are new many games we are waiting forward to come out. Even SSB for 3ds hasn't come out yet. who knows if it's compatible for both 3ds.
If they start make 3ds specifically for that 'new' 3ds...what are the people who just bought their 3ds, 2ds and 3dsXL gonna feel??! It feels like this 'new' 3DS is like what they did with DSi. And when that came out...I just kept with my DS lite and didn't care if I was missing out those extra battery life and gadgets.

The extra R2 and L2 button at the back next to the R and L is a stupid place....but I get it...nintendo still wants that 'thin' look. The change of covers and wallpapers for it IS ACTUALLY a nice idea. I thought it was clever...kinda feels like so everyone who owns a 'new' 3ds can have  a unique one to themselves. But then again...I can just go buy a 3ds skin of my choice online...probably cheaper.

So What i'm saying my DS lite...I probs will keep my 3DS and survive until the next gen comes out. My 3DS aqua blue is my baby

Yeah that Shulk video was probably just Nintendo going "Whatever. They already know..."

And no. I'm Hocotate on Skype.

My thoughts on the New 3DS are varied. I'm glad it's stronger and stuff, but is it a new device? Are they going to stop making 3DS games? Are there just going to be a few exclusives? What is it.

If it's a new device and they ultimately jump on that ship and leave the 3DS library as is, I'd be pretty unhappy. First off, this is the middle of a generation. Why would you do that? Never make a new, separate device in the middle of a generation. It only causes confusion and anger in people who thought their current device (in this case, the 3DS) would last through to the next. Upgrades like the XL and 2DS are fine simply because they play the exact games. They have the exact same library. Also, the name. Nintendo has recently done a horrible job at naming their products. For the first year of it's life, the Wii U was constantly being confused as just a peripheral for the Wii. I mean, the name wouldn't suggest otherwise. This New 3DS LL or whatever just sounds like another 3DS model. If that's the new devices name, there is no reason not to think it's just a different model, much like the XL or 2DS, rather than it being a completely different device that plays games that the 3DS can't. Chances are, you'll have confused people buy the Xenoblade port, thinking they could play it on their regular 3DS.

The added buttons are nice, though

The open world has been practically the ONLY thing that has been discussed about Zelda U. I get it. Open worlds are awesome and I support them, but after E3, practically every news story regarding the game has been about the overworld.

A little bit of news about Zelda Wii U about what exactly "open world" means to the dev team. … _84EPldWSo
