Also, your profile picture.
Is that Gin from Gintama after he realised he slept with Otose?

Ah, everyone in my family is a Jehovah's Witness. xD I was raised as one too. Though I'm not one anymore because of personal reasons.
Thanks though! I'll hold you to that. wink

@Kirby
The 14th? Wow, that's soon. I'll have to remember to wish you a happy birthday then.

@Everyone
I did some concept art of Zelda disguised as Link. (Hence the red eyes and some of the Sheik inspired design elements.)
What do you guys think? It's kind of lazy though...lots of scribbly lines and color that looks like it was done by a four year old. xD

Cool, when is that?

Sadly...my family doesn't celebrate birthdays and I don't have anyone to celebrate it with, so getting anything as a present isn't really an option. xD

sad oh I'm sorry about you're birthday situation.
Mine is the 14th of October.

Crap.
I wasn't really hyped for Hyrule Warriors, but then one of my favorite Youtubers started playing it and now I REALLY want it.
Maybe I should rob a bank.

My thoughts on Smash Bros. 3DS Music:

As a huge fan of music from video games, especially Nintendo, I always look forward to Smash games for more than just characters and mechanics. The Smash Bros. series often showcases the best remixes of the best songs from the best of Nintendo's franchises. My feelings for Smash 3DS's music is easily my most divided feelings of the previous installments. I can understand, for the most part, limiting stages to only 2 songs. The 3DS isn't a powerhouse in storage. But what I find a problem is that some represented series don't have a single original remix! The Pikmin, Wario, Metroid, Yoshi, Game & Watch, and Sonic franchises all missed out on a new remix. While you could say this is all reasonable because none of them in fact got a new stage (another sad fact), they should have all been treated to at least one new song. Yoshi had Yoshi's New Island you could have easily took a song from (although, that game's OST-and the game in general-was rather meh, but it's still something). Pikmin had Pikmin 3. Wario had Game and Wario. Sonic had that one game that came out recently (the name escapes me:/). Game & Watch didn't have a game, but no song from the Game & Watch Gallery series has ever been in Smash. Game & Watch in general only has two songs he technically owns, and both are original music tracks made partly by Game & Watch sound effects.

Although, I'm expecting the Wii U version will solve this problem as there'll be more than two songs per stage and new stages for those that didn't get one on the 3DS.

However, when I said my feelings were divided, I meant it. While I have a problem with the amount of new remixes, I have close to zero problems with the actual new songs. Almost every new song in the game is wonderful to listen to. They are truly wonderful. Punch Out's Jogging theme is so emotional. 1:42 of Full Steam Ahead is too much to take. Pac-Man, surprisingly, has two fantastic songs. It's all just bliss.

All I can hope, though, is that Smash Wii U doesn't have AS many reused songs as 3DS did. I doubt that will be the case, though.

I don't think stealth is a fundamental and necessary part of Zelda. Do they need more of it: not really. Less: Not really either. I think how they have it now is fine. Almost every game since Ocarina of Time has had at least one stealth part and I don't have too many gripes with any of them.

Does Stealth Belong in Zelda Games?
A decent amount of stealth has been featured in the Zelda series. It has always been used in very short instances, but the sneaky moments have remained memorable. Most games that use this style have done it differently, so which way is good enough to use again, if any? Should future Zelda games have elements of stealth? Join the discussion after the jump!

The most basic use of stealth was shown off in Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, and Oracle of Seasons, with nothing more than avoiding direct sights of guards, pirates, and Subrosians, respectively. It is not the most amazing use of the concept, but it shows the base possibilities of stealth tactics for Link. What was missing was what the future of the series would bring.

zelda_wind_waker_6Later games added to this with the most important part of stealth games: atmosphere. When you are being stealthy, you need to feel like you are that way for good reason; like you need to be sneaky, or bad things will happen. The Wind Waker introduced the idea of being powerless and sought after by strong enemies and spotlights, and having to sneak your way through a very large, impending area. Link even had more ways of hiding, via sidling against walls, and hiding under barrels. You had a real sense of weakness, and that made the moments when moblins would unknowingly pass right by you quite nerve-wracking.

runFour Swords Adventures would go on to simply minimize the kind of stealth that The Wind Waker had, for the sake of 2D gameplay, but Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks and Skyward Sword would go back to what made The Wind Waker‘s stealth great, and add an extra layer of fear to it. Phantoms and, more so, Gaurdians, when they see you, are terrifying. They share the element of having to be very nearby when you sneak around their respective areas, and when you are caught, it is very difficult to evade and hide from them again, as there is little to no way of defending against them. Music and local atmosphere make these stealth segments very memorable, and personally, I think that more series games could make good use of them. This seems to be the style of stealth that the series would stick with, so whether it should stay is up to you.

what do you guys think? I actually liked the stealth element in Wind Waker, it provided more depth into the game! Especially when we don't have weapons...makes us players leaning forward in our chairs.
The stealth in Skyward Sword however...was good...only in the first silent realm...it got tedious at the end. Especially in Phantom hourglass...when we have to constantly head back to the ocean temple...and complete...ALL THOSE SAME LEVELS...yet again...that gets boring.

Spirit tracks however in the spirit tower had something completely different every time you climb up. So I actually enjoyed that stealth there
