I haven't really watched much of the anime, so I don't know of there are any significant differences.
Besides the lack of fillers...ummm...well, there aren't any magic circles that pop up when the characters use magic. Hated that about the anime. Gave them an excuse to re-use animation cycles if you ask me. >__>
I agree on your point about no snow in winter! That's the only thing worthwhile about winter is if it snows like crazy! Otherwise it's just cold.
Yeah, it's just the year for girls though
Ah, so you read the manga. Is there much difference between the manga and the anime?
That very interesting though, that they apprenticed under the same artist, cool actually too. It's neat seeing what direction they both went in.
I also read on Wikipedia that the author of Fairy Tail was partially influenced by J.R.R Tolkien's work. But I checked again and it's not there anymore, so I don't know whether it's true or not.
Yeah, I have great memory for the weirdest things
Geehhh, it's now 9 degrees Fahrenheit. For the past few days the lows have been around 19, and high being 30s.
We got snow one night, and it obviously hasn't completely melted yet.
Our pool is several inches of ice.
There's rain in the forecast for this coming week, I just hope there isn't another ice storm like two years ago
I like winter, but if it ain't gonna snow, it can just skip to spring.
Welp, I'm headed to bed now, I hope you're able to get some sleep tonight too! Goodnight!
The same as me then. ^o^ Except I'm an uncle, obviously. Kinda wish I had a nephew though. xD
POSSIBLE SPOILERS AGAIN
It was actually right after the tower of heaven arc that I noticed how the manga didn't really have a direction. The reason the art style is similar though is because both authors apprenticed under the same artist. I think it was the guy who did Rorouni Kenshin.
I did? Hm. I could totally see him as an old man all gruff and badass.
It's currently -1 degree Fahrenheit currently and for the past few days it has been between that and about 15 degrees Fahrenheit. We have a little bit of snow. Not much though.
Thanks Sarru! I actually became an aunt last January, but hey, I'm totally into being an aunt for two little girls :3
I guess this also has spoilers if anyone hasn't watched
I read your spoiler/rant anyway, since I usually don't mind plots being revealed.
I absolutely know what you mean! I'm not even finished with the first season, and I was really hoping Lisanna would be in it more, or more revealed about her and Natsu's relationship. Sad that they wont
As for the similarities with One Piece, I see it. I actually thought it was by the same person, the art style is even quite similar.
I also wondered if the plot would get more exciting...right now they're at the tower of heaven. Which, is pretty interesting...but I noticed a lot of it is fillers, which, honestly I don't mind but there's no MAIN plot so far
I really enjoy Erza's character, she's your typical macho girl, but not all that because she has comical moments, she reminds me of my older sister! XD
I was afraid they'd turn all the women into creepyness, it was bad enough in the first season
All in all...I hate fan service, unless its for the good of the plot v.v
Spoiler thingamabob ended
and I remember that picture! You posted it on the Goth thread awhile back.
That's pretty awesome, I just can't see Link as an old man! X)
Also, Sarru. Is it as cold there as it is here? It was 13 degrees the last time I checked. Still no snow though T_T
Congrats on becoming an aunt Day_Dreamer! Unless you already were one...then congrats again!
*MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS* Also, Sarru is now in critical anime-nerd mode now so read at your own risk.
On the note of Mirajane's little sister, Lisanna.
I kind of hate that the author had some build up about how she was really important to Natsu, but then afterwards when she came back she just became a side character with no relevance to the story whatsoever.
Actually, in general I've felt the story has gone downhill (WAY downhill) ever since the time skip. Well, that and I feel like the author is a terrible story teller. It feels like he wants the story to be like One Piece, but the protagonists don't have an actual goal. So it ends up just being a bunch of random mini stories with tiny bits of over-arching plot in between about the dragons. I feel like the victories have become shallow too. I know pretty much every shounen manga plays on the "I won because willpower and friendship" trope a lot, but Fairy Tail downright abuses it. And when they're not abusing it, they win because Natsu eats something. Then...there's a fan-service. I felt like the female characters (Especially Erza) were all fairly strong female leads at first, but now it had just devolved to "How many panty shots can I fit in one chapter?!". It kind of has me curious about the ratings Fairy Tail gets in Japan, because that could be one reason for the change. Poor ratings might have led the author to feel he could only get them higher with cheap tactics like fan service.
*END POSSIBLE SPOILERS AND ANIME-NERD RANT*
Here's a cool picture of an older Link concept made into a figure to wash the taste of angry anime-nerd out of our brains!
omg yes i thought that was fairy tail too. xDDD
I see that too Sarru X)
and the girl with the short brown hair and pink outfit kinda reminds me of Mirajane's little sister, granted, she had white hair
I'm really enjoying the Fairy Tail anime, (watching dubbed) its good, hilarious, but there's one thing that ticks me off and I think you know what that is XD
On a side note, my eldest sister had her baby last night, an adorable little girl ^-^
For some reason those two pictures make me think of Fairy Tail...
The red haired girl in the top makes me think of Erza and the blond haired guy in the bottom image makes me think of Laxus...
"Shadow of the Labyrinth"
I bet the labyrinth refers to Tartarus(which you have to explore in Persona 3) and the Tv-World(which you have to explore in Persona 4).
Since they're big labyrinths you have to explore in search of missing friends and/or others.
I wonder how the story will go since some deaths happen in the game and I see those dead characters alive and well in the trailer xD
I'm glad he's back ;u;
I cried like a baby when he died.

P-p-p-p-persona Q! o-o
Nintendo News: Skull Kid and Cranky Kong are back?
Although I'd prefer a regular controller, I gotta say it's very easy to just think of the Wii U as a high powered 3DS (Without the 3D).
Because...it basically is. xD
I think the advertising of the Wii U wasn't almost perfect...I mean just what Kirby said...once you handle the Wii U...it's amazing and a totally different experience. Legit.
Just like Animal Crossing New Leaf...once it was released.. heaps more 3DS consoles were bought as well.
So we never know...when maybe the new zelda wii U and super smash bros brawl for Wii U and 3ds come out...bam! more consoles sold.
And yes! it's also how the game stores 'present' the wii U. Are there nice banners out? Is it in the middle of the shelves? Is it not crammed into a small midget space?
Yes Wii U looks a little weird...'wow...a controller with a screen...what...?'
but then when the customers see what the gamepad can REALLY do...then things will be taken in a much different level for the Wii U.
Wii is great for families, especially families with kids 13 and under.
Most of my family members play casually, so we're not into a lot of intense games.
One thing I always loved about the Wii is that it could play gamecube games.
Honestly, I think Nintendo will do just fine, every company has its ups and downs. They just need to read into what the fans are saying, and wanting.
It'd be nice to see a lot more original games though rather than a bunch of new Mario games and sequels.
Man...I just really want Nintendo to do well since they produce a ton of my favorite game series, but I want them to do well AND be liked. Wii sold well, but I'm pretty sure most gamers (Most gamers that don't have biased fanboy opinions on one side or the other) thought it was a generally mediocre console with a few awesome 1st party games and 1,000,000 shovelware titles.
