Jilly is correct - we have this implementation based on IP network. We found that there were just too many abusers in places like schools, universities, or people with multiple computers on a single network that would constantly rate their own or their friends drawings to gain and unfair advantage. It is one of those things that is unfortunate that it has to be in place, but does more good in preventing abuse.
Alright, It does make sense now because of the conflicting IP address. (grrr I wish that didn't happen.)
Thank you so much! ^_^
I'm pretty sure that it's more based on the network location (your IP address). Which means that if your friend was connected to your internet, then it counts. Also, if your siblings use other computers within your house, it counts.
I hope that makes sense..
Also, thank you! Yours are wonderful, too.

I believe that to keep the rating system fair, ratings are counted based on a person's location (that way you can't rate your own drawing all day).
Therefore, If your friend rated the drawing on your computer, then you tried to rate the drawing, it only counted it once.
Also, to explain the error message when you tried to rate drawings that you've never seen; if anyone else in your family uses RMD, and they rated the drawing, then you can't rate the drawing again, because of the whole location thing.
I have seen siblings fight over who rated the drawing, so that's why I assumed this.
Hope it helped!
The thing is, my friend has a completely different computer, and I watched her try and rate it. None of my siblings are allowed on my computer, as we each have our own. D:
(Btw, your drawings are amazing 8D)

So a friend of mine rated this drawing 5h:![]()
And then a bit later, I went and rated it 5 as well, yet it only shows 1 rating.
We both checked again later, to see if one of us had made a mistake, but for both of us it says we already rated, yet it still only has 1 rate. I was wondering if this happens a lot?
Sometimes I go to random pictures I've never even seen before and it says that I already rated it, but I didn't and I never even saw it before.
Hopefully this can be fixed?
