My Layer box hanged when I tried to merge them all.
When I undo the action, it got back.

I've deleted the redo and undo history but nothing changed. The memory remained the same, and I still can't save/make new layer hmm

Hm., the "Clear History" under the Edit menu? Is that it?

edit: Okay, I've closed some programs now. I only have Chrome and Firefox running at the moment.
I had 66 layers previously.

I had that too.
It usually happened whenever I used too many layers.
Like 70+ (yes, that's the amount I used to use X'd)

Due to Java freezing I was forced to merge a lot of layers together.
It also helps that to regularly "Clear Memory".
(can be chosen from one of the drop down menu's, don't know the exact name)
However, you can't undo anything from before that point.

But once that is done, you will 'get a lot of memory back'.
Another way to safe memory is by just opening chibipaint alone. Lock down all other programs to win a bit of memory. If you want to listen to music, use something else than your computer. I use my mp4 player or my phone or grab a radio.

If chibipaint has stopped replying. Undo your last actions until it replies again. Might take a while if your computer is a troll and loves to randomly freeze. Then merge layers together, clear memory and start over again. That's the only way. Well, hope that helps.

Ah, yeah I didn't think of that! thx

Well, I just did, and the Layer Box freezes on me now. I'll wait for a couple minutes, and see if it gets any better. I'll let you know if it works.

fuuu... um... can you somehow merge the layers so they'll use less memory... maybe...? owo

I have. But it won't take effect until I restart the browser (which I did not do, I'm afraid I'd lose my work).

maybe try giving more memory to Java from here?

I was drawing on advanced Java drawing tool, when suddenly I couldn't make new layer. I tried to save it (save to your computer for later) but nothing happened. And then I noticed there was an exclamation mark in a yellow triangle (icon) at the right side of the task bar whenever I clicked on a menu. And, it turned out that my java memory is at its limit. Basically, java is no longer responding, except for its tool bars and previously made layers. Does the memory capacity have anything to do with these errors?

What should I do? I want to be able to continue my work as it's already halfway done. The drawing tool is still open, and my work is still there but I can neither save nor go on to where I was up to. I haven't shut my computer down for 2-3 days.

I made a thread asking for help but I receive no respond yet. Here:

Please if there's anyone out there, help? I'm desperate here.
