And it's a bit confusing at first. But at the bottom there should be all kinds of boxes. There should be a red one saying: "Model Manipulation".

Click load and you will have a list of models (ending with '.pmd') select on of them. Click "ok" when the pop-up appears and you'll have the model out there.

You move around with the mouse.
Scroll to zoom in.
Right click + drag is change perspective.
Change perspective more is
green 4-way pointer in the upper right corner, click and drag.

At the moment, every 'bone' is highlighted.
Pick one of these bones by clicking on the circle. The bone will be slected.
In the purple box, next to "select" there's the rotate. Click that and a wheel will appear. Mess with the wheel and you'll mess with the 'bone'.
Hit select again to select another 'bone'.
If you don't any bone to be highlighted, click select so all bones are highlighted, click select again so not any of them are highlighted.

And this is all I know about MMD XD
Just thought I'd write it down here, could save you a lot of trouble :3

I have three tips.

1. MMD
Miku Miku Dance (it's for free and in English and comes with those Vocaloid characters)
You can use the characters to stand in a certain pose by moving their body parts, change camera angle and there you have your own reference. I use that when I can't use my own body.

2. Own body + Mirror/Camera
Sounds stupid, but I do it rather often. When drawing hands for example.
The more I do it, the more I feel familiar with the hands and the less I need to look at my own.
It's like upgrading your "inner 3D computer program".

3. A parent or a friend
Either they pose for you xD or you ask for their feedback while you're working on it.

I hope that helps.

It does! thanks a bunch (:> does mmd work for mac? :?

Im having a lot of trouble drawing lately. Especially when it comes to anatomy in anime. The head and shoulders are fine, but everything afterwards is placed awkwardly and i need to remedy that. Does anyone have any references or tips for me? (:
