Re: internet boyfriend/girlfriend?

Yeah, they exist, though I'd shy away from calling them boyfriends or girlfriends until, you know, they actually meet. I think if you're going to have a relationship with someone over the internet, meeting each other has to be a goal. You can't really say you love them if you don't wanna meet them, right? tongue

Re: internet boyfriend/girlfriend?

Not about to 'bite your head off', Sweet, but it's not always that internet stereotype. I personally know someone who is now married to someone they met on the internet. You're not always going to find love in your local area, so I really don't find it pathetic by itself. Now, what I DO find pathetic is if you're actively LOOKING for a bf/gf online, with no intention of meeting people in your area or meeting the online bf/gf. I don't think you should be looking for love via the internet, but if you happen to find it, then go for it, right?

And you're very right, unfortunately, about there being people who lie about their age and gender. I suggest, if you're gonna go for the whole online partner thing, that you get pictures out of the way early on. Ask them to do something in the picture that's specific, so you know they took it right then and there. For instance, ask them to send a pic with their fingers in their ears. Yes, it's goofy, but at least you'll know it's THEM.

Re: internet boyfriend/girlfriend?

What i always found funny is, if you met someone once, then they moved away, and you still talked to them online and eventually wanted to be together, then that's romantic. Even pen-pals who fall in love are 'romantic', possibly even more so. But should those pen-pals be sharing e-mails instead of written messages, then suddenly it's gross. What happened? hmm

Re: internet boyfriend/girlfriend?

I know an admin of a site that met his wife over the internet (: they're still happily married now and running the site ;]

I've never really had a solid opinion of ANYTHING, I change way too much xD But like, I'd say as long as you HONESTLY love the person it's okay. But I do agree with Urb, get pictures early on so you know it's not some old man sitting in an attic.
[hey, that's totally a possibility D<]

anyway. yeah.

But like, agreeing again, if you're just looking for love and stuff... that's sort of lame in itself, no offense. Love happens because it happens, not because you're searching for it ;D

True true

Ah, yeah. I'm taken by the sweetest guy, and he's in Brazil.
And..I'm in Indiana.
We weren't exactly looking for each other, or looking for love...
It just kinda...Happened.
So. I found it. I went for it. And here I am.
Agreed with the picture bit. We each have video of each other. NO, NOTHING WEIRD. Lol. Ah. But I know it's him.
He knows it's me.
Neither of us are weird 80-year-old men. Lol.

Re: internet boyfriend/girlfriend?

I think its really stupid when there are people on drawchat that are like... 10 or 11 that are saying they "love" eachother... And then I see the same boy/girl saying that to another person...
You deffinately need to be older to have an internet bf/gf.... And actually be serious about it...
But yeah, you never know who it could actually be :S  Omg loll....A 40 year old man in the atiic XDDD
