We have now phased DrawChat 2 into beta mode. This basically means that all our core functionality is in place and DrawChat 2 works but we are still perfecting it to it's full potential. We will continue perfection while in beta mode, and hope that there are no bugs that are preventing anyone from enjoying the new version.

With the new version and the introduction of a larger canvas, DrawChat 2 is more demanding on computer resources than our previous version - this is just the nature of having much more complex information being rendered for every stroke as it is drawn on screen by your computer.

Items we are most focused on still perfecting...

Lag
Lag has been an issue for many users with slower or older computers and it is something we will continue to perfect. We have just introduced some optimization that has greatly helped the lag issue, but it has one down-side which is that when zoomed in on the canvas, some imperfections (slight pixelation and blurring) may appear. This will vary with every drawing, but the speed improvement is enough that we think this is a better drawing experience than having excess lag. These visual imperfections only appear when zoomed in, and will not appear on the final animated drawchat replay.

Room Moderators
We are still monitoring how well the new "room moderator" features work for both permanent and user-created rooms. We will continue to assess these systems and may make minor or even major changes to this part of DrawChat.


We are still accepting feedback and bug reports and are still perfecting our code, but we do hope that everyone feels that all the amazing new and improved features are a big step forward for DrawChat.
