I read that you can continue playing the game while your tv is on a different channel or something. Like, one of your parents is watching the news and you just continue playing the game on your gamepad...?

Not the 13's.
The ones you can play on your PSP are:
(through GBA/SNES emulators)
Final Fantasy 1
Final Fantasy 2
(the combined version Dawn of Souls)
Final Fantasy 4
Final Fantasy 5
Final Fantasy 6
Below are PS1 games you can either buy at the psn-network or you can download it somewhere, but you need CFW when you download it.
Final Fantasy 6 (difference with SNES version is that it has an computer animated opening)

Note with Final Fantasy 8:
It freezes nearly everywhere. I quit, I couldn't stand it. Can't use magic, can't use draw, can't use items or else it'll freeze. Legal or illegal, it sucks.

Playstation 1
Final Fantasy games are REALLY expensive now.
I could buy them for 20 euros per piece a few years ago (maybe 5?)
now they doubled in price. Second hand... about 40 euros.
A friend of mine bought a second hand Final Fantasy IX for 40 EURO's!
so, I suggest buying them from the PS1 network.
Also, a new version of Final Fantasy VII has been released to the pc.
Not much of an upgrade in graphics and stuff but there are small extra's.
I don't have it though.
Oh and I forgot 1 game:
(Duodecim) Dissidia Final Fantasy
(Duedecim has extra characters such as Lightning, Tifa, Yuna, Laguna and Vaan, so I recommend Duodecim) The story is horribly bad, but the gameplay is epicly good.

(>n<) and i'll see if anyone has duodecimo and i'll try it to see if its good~ then i'll buy it from the PS1 network~ thank you sooooooooo much for sooooooo much info!!! (especially the price and the new ones and stuff) i was watching this trailer(?) type of thing for final fantasy on a plasma TV at a shop and the graphics were so awesome i just wanted one so badly!!! i'll do the begging and see if i can get one

Yup that was the one i was talking about where the characters are all more anime style! i didn't know the old ones were like that....and i wanna create a game....(one day...i have sooo many goals....) ummmm.....wats a direct???(I'm really not used to gaming so i don't know a lot of stuff including the controls....) oh once i was playing(at least trying) this racing game....and i don't know how....but i made the thing explode just by driving it..............turns out that the highest score i achieved was only 500.... (yesh.....i suck)

rpgmaker is the best to use since it is fairly simple to use.
VX and XP are the newest and it's optional to script your game or use the built in functions. These are the only gamemakers I know that do not require scripting.
