Personally, I prefer drawing with pencils, because that way I can shade and erase at any point in the drawing.

I prefer pencils, but I never draw on paper.

I like both. I like drawing with pen because I don't have to stress with making things perfect. Since I can't erase, I can't fix something, I know its a weird way of thinking xD but I like not having to worry about continually fixing things on a drawing. I also really like pencil though, I feel like I can really make things flow, especially with shading. Markers are cool too!

I prefer digital. I can erase the entire canvas instead of spending 10min. trying to erase every single line on paper and then I can still see the lines vaguely
and grabbing a new paper seems like a waste to me. And flipping it over doesn't always help either because I can see the lines on the other side
or there is the risk of crumbling the paper when you erase too furiously
My paper always has to look perfect and spotfree, any kind of dirt on it which (I can't blow away) bothers me...hugely
or losing pencils/copicmarkers/eraser/pencilsharpener/fineliners/pens/brushes and all the other stuff I sometimes use when I work traditionally.
And when I do work on paper, I can't 'undo'.
"Pff, this looks horrible. Bad idea. Ctrl+Z,,,
...ctrl+z...
DANG! THIS IS NO COMPUTER ;A;! MY 2 HOUR WORK IS RUINED!"
This happens ... really often when I work on paper.
And more silly reasons as to why I dislike working with paper
Yeah, maybe I'm a crybaby when it comes down to working with paper =w='
But when I DO work with paper, I use pencils. Like... high quality pencils.
I have spent 40 euro's on good high quality pencils o3o
Totally worth it <3
The way the colours blend is perfect
Green object that needs shading? I colour it green. Go over it with a blue pencils. Maybe some purple? Maybe a little teensy bit of brown. A bit of yellow for the highlights...? Yeah...

I couldn't resist Red*Rouge you said it almost exactly. Hahaha!
I know what you mean though. But for some reason paper is easier for me to get my ideas out.

^ yay :'D
pffft, I need to learn to read the title.
I prefer... pens over pencils OTL :'D
because pens can make thick/thin lines thus the drawings look more dynamic.
Shading can also be done with a pen.
colouring pencils make it more pretty,
but it takes waaaay more time.
(I spent 7 hours straight colouring a drawing for my drawing finals exam)

When I draw on paper, I prefer pencils because I can fix my mistakes with them. I only use pens when I'm drawing something I want to get done really quick. I used to always use pen, but then I switched to pencil so I could fix mistakes.
Between traditional and digital, there are things I like better about both. Traditional is better because it takes less time. Digital is better because mistakes are much easier to fix and I can color the drawings without worrying about ruining them. I almost never color traditionally because I worry I'll smudge the pencil if I do.

I don't like drawing on paper in general but if I have to choose I'd go for pencils because I can't erase with a pen not that my eraser helps erasing everything when drawing with a pencil but that's just me pressing my pencil too hard on the paper.

I like using both, but I have to be super careful when I use pens, so I usually opt for pencils. And even then, though, I have to think about which kind of pencil I use. There are good pencils, and bad pencils, you know? I usually use mechanical pencils, though. I like the way the lines are about the same width even after four hours, unlike with wooden pencils. Also, I sometimes break wooden pencils when I get tense. Mechanical pencils are harder to break. "=3=

What do you mean by "pens" do you mean this:
Or a tablet pen:
If you mean an actually pen I'd say pencils but if you mean a tablet pen I'd say.... tablet pen. ![]()

i like drawing with both of them (depends on what I'm drawing) and sometimes i hate using the computer to draw, and sometimes i hate using paper...
(god, i don't know which to choose...) (O.o)

I started out as an artist drawing portraits in pencil. Loved that I could shade with a pencil. With a pen had to work harder hatching and trying to make the pic look like it was shaded. Now I LOVE digital. No erasing, Whoopie.

pencil, it's much easier control...
pen is okay, but I'm really a messy drawer, so my 'sketching' looks... not very smooth.
but digital overall is my choice, since it doesn't leave annoying smudge marks when I erase, it looks much cleaner and I can use the Ctrl+Z function to undo stupid, crazy strokes when my hand spasms
(or a certain annoying relative comes past and pushes you while you're in deep concentration >_>)

Pencil but pen when i want it to look awesomer i use pencil XD

I like them both
I used to be a pen artist before I practiced pencil drawing.

Pencils, because once I get the drawing to be perfect, I can go over it with pen. C:

I was drawing previously just in time slacking off on some lectures or lessons and that's why I was always doing it using pen. But in traditional way I suck at drawing even more than in digital actually.
Edit: Oh sorry I wanted to say pen actually, so I fixed this

Hmm, lately I seem to be drawing with pen, but I only sketch...
I'd still say pen though
I just like it how it's black and most of times using pencil looks just 'dirty' to me...in a way...don't really know how to say it xD
As for the shading...yeah, it can be done with a pen too and in my opinion it looks cooler than with a pencil xD
And I have color pens too
(how long has it been since I even used a pencil, anyway...? and yeah, just gotta agree with red rogue xD)
(just that I erase in one direction without much fury, so the crumpled paper doesn't happen to me...at least not often. considering I don't even use pencil that has to be erased anymore xD)

Hmm...good question o_o I think I prefer pencil because...well,it's easier to shade with. But then again, pens can make bold lines. ouo Pencils. =u=b
