Just a small note to encourage people to update your browsers to latest versions if you have done so recently.
Chrome: Recent updates to Chrome (version 18) has enabled hardware acceleration for graphics. This can improve performance of our drawing tools - in particular the HTML5 CanvasDraw tool. With the latest version and hardware acceleration supported computer, you should notice significant improvement, smoothness of drawing, and mouse/tablet response. To see if your Chrome is updated, click the settings icon in the top-right and select About Google Chrome. At the bottom it will tell you if your browser is up-to-date. You should also notice a version number at the top that starts with "18".
Internet Explorer: Our CanvasDraw tool only works in Internet Explorer 9, so if you have it then you're good. IE9 also has hardware acceleration and performance is actually very impressive (in many cases the fastest browser for CanvasDraw. If you have not used IE9 yet, you may want to consider updating.
Firefox 4: likewise does offer support for hardware acceleration, however some people have noticed it is not always available or reliable. There is an article about this here: http://blog.mozilla.com/joe/2010/11/10/ … eleration/
I know updating browsers can be a pain, but I do encourage it. Think of it as going out and buying a new set of paintbrushes... getting in the car, driving to an art supply store, etc. is all a pain, but once you lay paint onto canvas with a new brush you wonder how you survived with those ratty old brushes
