This is a male mallard duck and yes this did take a while. But I haven't drawn a bird in a while and never a duck... so here it is.

nice job on your first duck drawing! :D i like the details you gave the duck on the feathers. maybe you could try adding shadow on the water by the duck to make it look more realistic. (:
