Beautiful drawing and love story.....There is a similar story in S.C. of two Indian lovers who tried to swim to each other across a river when separated and both drowned...sad!
Thanks Salita for the comment we found that Georgian and Jewish has also the"Legend of Tamar"some different versions but with strong similarites..

oh, I thought it was the legend of Tamara, whereby due to a spell from a king she became a river: Tamar joined by his love Tavy,who also became a river, and they join the sea for eternity...different parts of same Legend? lovely 5/5..
May be My dear Magy It seems they have some similarity,the name of the girl especially and the story of the water this one is more real and the one you told is more legendary ,I will ask from one my friend in Armenia let me ask
this also reminds me of the "Bill Viola"s version of tristan and isolde video -performance where to lovers joined the water to reveal their true feelnigs-the water -the purification ceremony...

Thank you for the comment,the missed part i didn't wrote is really sad,the guys of the village find humiliating to let the lover guy took away their beautiful Tamar from their village and one day some mad guys of the village turned off the light .
That was lightened by Tamar,the lover guy was lost in the cold waters of the sea,in the morning the people of the village foun the body of the boy ,as they told the frozened lips of the boy seemed to say two words"AH Tamar" ..
They found their love was sacred.Sad from what was happened from that day on the village is called"AkhTamar" and they built a church Akhtamar a very popular church till today to make wishes there .

the the traditions were stronger , then their love didn't ended happily what remains from their love is the name of the island were they meet every night the people of the village called it "AkhTamar"and a church with the name of Tamar

Yes based on the legend the boy was swimming all the way to the village secretly to meet the girl,and Tamar was lighting fire to guide the boy in the darkness of the night..
