Also mess about with the Alpha setting too to give it that different shades of one color, hope that makes sense and also try to use some smudge tools to nicely blend everything together, but it's a cute draw ^^
For the background it's cool but i do recommend for you to make the background more focus, try testing out the tools more ik this is pretty touch since your new but you'll gradually improve.
Not sure what a moogle is but it looks cute lol i think a good tip would be to use more lines other than airbrush and to add more shading :-)
Also try adding more levels of shading. Make sure to use your value scale. Don't forget to make sure your highlights are where your light source is, and your shadows are opposite. If you have any questions, although I'm not a pro myself, just ask (:
Work with practicing with the tools a bit more. I recommend watching other users videos on youtube for techniques. Although the airbrush tool is fabulous, try not to use it too much. I also agree with trying to define your lines.
ok, maybe on this one you can work on defining you lines :D
