i hope this helped! and keep working on your portraits!
not bad for your first portrait, but you could work more on your proportions and tone values (find the darkest and lightest point and compare the rest) for example the hair and the shirt seem to be the darkest, and his left cheek is the lightest

great portrait the black and white color looks fantastic it give more depth to the colors and shading and on my opinion the draw you made looks squize than the ref but to be honest it looks great :) nice contrast you should draw more portrait :)
