How to colour outlines in JavaDraw/ChibiPaint using the Lock Alpha option.
Step 1Create a new layer and draw the outline of your picture. It does not matter what colour you use at this stage.
Create another layer underneath your outline layer and colour your picture in.
Step 2Once you have finished colouring, select 'Lock Alpha'. Add shading and highlights to the colour layer.
The 'Lock Alpha' prevents you from going over the edges.
Step 3Then, with the 'Lock Aplha' still on, go back to the outline layer.
Colour in the outline.
Step 4This is the character viewed actual size.
Outlines are best used for cartoons/manga only.
Hope this short tutorial has been useful! :D
