How to colour outlines in JavaDraw/ChibiPaint using the Lock Alpha option.
Create a new layer and draw the outline of your picture. It does not matter what colour you use at this stage.
Create another layer underneath your outline layer and colour your picture in.
Once you have finished colouring, select 'Lock Alpha'. Add shading and highlights to the colour layer.
The 'Lock Alpha' prevents you from going over the edges.
Then, with the 'Lock Aplha' still on, go back to the outline layer.
Colour in the outline.
This is the character viewed actual size.
Outlines are best used for cartoons/manga only.
