Step 1

create a sketch first using the guide options then start fill in the base colors using the fill tool or any tool that you prefer may do.

 

Step 2

start filling in and blend colors using the transparency options. for example filling a transparent wings, simply change the percentage of transparency lesser than 20% and start blending it in.

 

 

Step 3

use the spray tool to soften the edges of your object. start filling in your highlights to create depths on your drawing. mostly i will use spray tool and fill tool to blend colors to create a good highlights.
