My name is Rathish Ravi.I'm not an expert at RMD the tutorial which I'm creating is about my second drawing with java tool. so don't expect some technical things from this tutorial.. just want to share some of my ideas, how to plan things before drawing and little bit about how I drew MM's legendary pose..
Step 1The most important thing you must keep in mind before drawing is proportion..
spend a little time on drawing a rough silhouette to make sure everything gonna fit in ur drawing space.
for that set a grid. In this case i set the grid size as 20. coz the details r too small
select floating mode for full screen and adjust the size using (Ctrl+, Ctrl-)
press prtscn button on ur keyboard and paste it over ur reference picture in photoshop. reduce the grid layer opacity to smething like 30% so that u can see the ref pic and the grid simultaniously adjust the ref pic to the grid size by Ctrl+T and do manual adjustment. save the file..
Step 2open the saved photoshop grid file and keep it aside ur chibipaint.
For some reason the grids are not showing similar here but it is..
No need to make perfect lines for ur silhouette but make sure each n evry parts goes same place as in ref pic.
Step 3once you finish with the boundry move on to the original ref pic without grid and getrid of the grid in chibi as well.
now you are going to start your drawing.. you must prepare ur mind for this.. drawing is 10% skills and 90% patience when it comes to drawing using a reference picture..
you have to give attention to each and every details to get a photorelistic output. Zoom the picture and do even the minute details, the output will be incredible... the picture will get perfect depends upon ur level of patience...
Step 4use multiple layers, while drawing.. don't create too much layers. once you done with the particular part mergedown the layers(Ctrl+E)otherwise file get too heavy and system will get slow...
reduce the opacity of brush. it takes multiple strokes to get a gud result
Step 5thats pretty much i got... as i said i'm new to chibi tool i didn't use any effects other than brush tool. and yeah in the end, for lightning the skin tone and glossines for her skirt i used lightning tool.
for those who are looking for inspiration or wanna know to wat extend you can go with realism, here is a link for the most realistic drawing which i found in RMD a couple of days before.... in this profile you can lots of realistic drawings...
