Even good artist use guidelines, so dont think because you use them your not good! :)

Woot! Outline! This little guy looks like a Pup' right?

Color! This is just a light base, so i can see anything that goes out of the outline. :) The color has to be light, but i usaully use yellow. Its alright to use anything besides it like pink,white,red,orange, you choose. :D

Now it's actually colored with a design. :D

Blend in the main object ( currently the wolf ) in the backgroung.

Add a little more value or detail, what vere is needed. or maybe nothing at all lol.

Add your name/sig and date so people will know you did it and know when you did it. :)
