This tutorial contains a few tips & tricks to shade various things!I hope you enjoy it!!!
Step 1Ok, I'm using the Chibipaint Java tool here on RMD. Here are the figures we will be shading today. XD
Step 2Here is the first shape we will be shading. :P
Step 3I'm using a brush size 26 on airbrush. I put the darer colour on one side according to where the light source is. Then I took the blend on a size that would about fit the shape and gently smudge it with the BLEND tool. The arrow indicates where the light source is.
Step 4I added a highlight with a bigger sized tool in the direction of the light source using the airbrush on white. Then, I took a smaller size on airbrush and added to the 'center of the light source direction' to add more depth.
Step 5I used the 'darken' tool around the farthest part from the light source. :D
Step 6Now, touch-up the shaoe. Here is what it looks like.
Step 7Here is our shape. Lets try this time with a different light source and a coloured shape.
Step 8I selected the watercolour tool this time & found a darker colour to put at the bottom.(Opposite the light source.) *Note: THE LIGHT SOURCE IS ON TOP.* XD
Step 9I used the blend tool & the smudge tool to help blend in the shading.
Step 10I added the highlight where the light source is keeping in mind of the shape of the figure.
Step 11I added some extra touches with the 'darker' tool and i'm done with this shape! :) I also added a shadow!
Step 12Now, let's look at the complex shape.
Step 13How about we add some depth to the 'burst' look by adding some darker & lighter areas.
Step 14Time for a new shape.
Step 15Take the line selection on the airbrush tool to highlight the centre. Us
