drawing Drawing Tutorial

 

Step 1

this is Yuuki from Vampire Knight... pic requested by xxxDangoxxx

sooo have a lineart first. I have each part on a separate layer so I can change the color of the lineart easier later if i need to...

 

Step 2

so first and foremost... base color~~~

I didn't worry too much about staying in the lines cuz when i color the hair and cloth, the stuff outside will be covered...

and I made the bg darker so I can see easier.

 

 

Step 3

choose a darker and slightly red color to shade...

click lock alpha on the layer with the base color.

use the airbrush and color the forehead and the neck... for the shadows created by the curved skin curfaces and well the neck is usually always darker...

and then I used the pen tool and colored back the bottom of the chin cuz the airbrush went over...

 

Step 4

now depending on the situation I would either color on the original layer with the skin color or i make a new layer...

for this paticular pic I'll make a new layer cuz I'm doing something with it in the next step.

so pick a even darker and redder color to do the solid shading made by the hair, cloth, cheek, etc...

and Yay!! it's looking better XD <3

 

Step 5

for this step, lock alpha on the new layer we just shaded the skin in.

this way you can change the color of the shade.easily.. I picked a slightly darker and less saturated color for the neck, darker and redder for the forehead, and the original base skin color for the cheek...

and now just brush those colors in their respective areas~~

cuz a lot of the times I feel like I just do a bunch of useless steps o_O

 

 

Step 6

and we are almost done!!!

for this, just add some details to the shadow layer like I did with the neck and the mouth.

and also, I made a highlight layer and used the pen with white to make lines and dots to make things look shiney *w*

this is more of a optional step... but I like to do it cuz... I'm a hopeless perfectionist

 

Step 7

and yay~~~ done <3

I'm gonna make another tut for hair, clothes and eyes too.... I think
