My last tutorial's a bit old and outdated so, I decided to make a new tutorial with my latest drawing.
First step, put the lineart on interpolation. It makes the lineart seem cleaner when zooming in/out.
Also something important, I didn't put hte linart on Multyply because I figured out I didn't need it and I was right.
When wanting to change the color of the lineart you have to use the first layer for something stupid, like borders that's what I did. You can't seem to use lock alpha on hte first layer, so when wanting to draw something for example My Little Ponnies, you have to use the second layer.
If anything doesn't sound clear to you or you can't do it by yourself feel free to ask me I'll help you.
You do have to color everything underneath that layer otherwise you'll lose the lineart.
I already finished this drawing, so I couldn't really be arsed to remove everything.
Anyways, this is the basic color of his skin. It's not the perfect color, I know that very well.
The reason everything's his skin color is because I had to draw it with a mouse and was too lazy to color it clean. Lol
Moving on, add the highlights of his skin.
Try to make it atleast a little bit like the reference. Putting in other words "Put effort into it" I know, it's funny coming from me.
When done with the highlights start drawing the shadows.
Okay, so the shadows are added, but one thing I still want to make clear, color it clean. Don't use, for example Airbrush to color it, only makes your drawing look effortless.
Okay, so now you're done with shading, I'm going to zoom in the eyes.
First, add the white to the eyes.
I haven't really saved pictures of the eyes being unfinished except for these, so it's going to jump to the finished version. Lol
I forgot to save the eyes when I turned the pupil Blue, so it's still the lineart color. I noticed after I uploaded the finished drawing. OTL
Okay, and now for the next eye. This eye seriously took me an hour to color. Most likely because I was using a mouse and couldn't get it right which annoyed me.
Oh, I did use airbrush for this eye. Because you can see some mad colors in that eye. I know, fail eye is a fail. Ohwell, atleast it's better than how most people draw it. HAHAAAAA
Now on with his hair, as you can see in the reference, it's not that much of effort really.
Try to color in the lines, in other words, color it clean.
Add the highlights.
you might want to zoom in your reference when coloring it, so you can see it better.
Now finally, almost done with the drawing. Add some darkness to it, because you can clearly see I drew it too light. Lol
Oh, make a layer above the lineart, so it looks more natural.
You can call the layer "Extra" that's what I always do.
Now add the light shining to his left. Yes, on the computer screen it might be right, but in real life, it's left deal with it.
Oh I forgot to mention, when shading it darker use the normal pen on the max of size and use less opacity around the 45 opacity is the best.
And your drawing is finished, so you can upload it to your page now.
Oh don't forget to save your drawing once in a while, you might lose it if you don't save it.
Well anyways, that was it. Hope this helped, and good luck. =u=b
