Easy Trees

This simple tutorial will show you how to create the basic shape of a tree.

Step 1

First, draw the trunk of your tree. For this I am using RMD, but you can use absolutely any drawing media you wish!

Step 2

Using thinner lines, start drawing the branches. Think of how your tree is growing when you draw.

Step 3

Using thinner lines again, branch out your branches!

Step 4

Again thinner lines, add smaller twigs to your branches.

Step 5

...Smaller twigs...

Step 6

...tiny twigs! If it is an autumn or winter picture (or if your tree is dead!) then your tree is finished. If not...

Step 7

..add leaves to your tiny twigs! Try experimenting with different leaves, different sized trees, different colours. I hope this short tutorial has been helpful!
