An easy step-by-step tutorial, teaching how to draw realistic clouds.
First, start with a sky blue for the canvas color. (The sky is not plain blue, ever noticed how the sky turns lighter the farther you look?) Using transparency, add white layers towards the bottom of the canvas. Try to make them blend.
Clouds form in many shapes, EXCEPT these...
We will start with this shape, fluffy at top and flat on bottom. Use a thick pen size, white, and transparency to fill the shape of the cloud. This is just the first layer.
Then brighten up the top and sides of the cloud. This is where the light hits the most.
Keep adding allover, especially the top.
You can use a smaller brush size to make more fluffy puffs at top. Continue moving towards the center.
In the center, you can add more to make it look like it's poofing out of the side.
Now, fill up the rest lightly to keep the shape. Use very light blue and add more shading shape. (I'm just gonna add some swirls.)XP
You can finish off with blue or grey shading...and you are done with your fluffy puffy poofy cloud! YAY! :D (Try to say that 5 times fast!) I really hope this tutorial helped you!
