How I Drew Miku Hatsune

My tutorial is how I drew Miku Hatsune in the RMD Java tool. This can hopefully help you out in future manga drawings.

Step 1

First you need to pick a reference picture. Make sure to pick something that interests you so you don't get bored while drawing it.

 

Step 2

-Haha. xP It looks so funny.- Next, just do a realllyy rough sketch. Don't spend too long on it. I used the pen tool, but you can pretty much use anything you want.

 

 

Step 3

Add a new layer. On this layer do a more clean sketch. You can do it in color or just black again. It's not going to be the final lineart. Again, I used the pen tool, but you can use anything you want.

 

Step 4

Add a new layer. On this layer you do the skin. First, I just did a light yellow fill with the pen tool. Then, I used the airbrush for the pink shadows and the blend tool to make it smooth. Then, back to pen tool for the lineart. Last, just add the nose and mouth.

 

Step 5

Add a new layer. On this layer do the clothes. Do it pretty much just like the skin. Do the main color fill with pen, shadows and highlights with airbrush, blend where neccessary, and back to pen for the outline.

 

 

Step 6

Add a new layer. Here I just did a quick sketch for the eyes since I didn't do it above.

 

Step 7

Add a new layer. Here do the actual eyes. I used pen tool for all of it.

 

Step 8

Add a new layer. Do the hair. This was the hardest part for me, definitely. I just did the light blue fill and then did the shadows. All with pen tool. Then used the blend tool where neccessary.

 

Step 9

New Layer. Eybrows. ^^ Self explanatory.

 

Step 10

New layer. Add the highlight. For the highlight I used white and made the layer on low opacity. Maybe add a border and signature. Then you are finished. :)
