how to draw with java tool (simple methods)

in this tutorial i'll show you how to use java tool to colour a manga character

Step 1

for the beginning i made a new layer.. in layer 2 i used the pen and the eraser (hard edge) to make the outline

this time i'll work on layer 1 and start with the character.. first i put the colour

 

 

Step 3

lets make the easy parts first.. i'll start with the skin.. with the pen i'll add some darker splashes for the shades

 

Step 4

after that i used blend to unify the passage between the darker and the lighter colours

 

Step 5

if it's necessary like in this situation you can use air brush too

 

 

Step 6

now i used a more darker colour for some parts of the skin (eyes, chin, arm, forehead)

 

Step 7

time for his eyes.. first i put a darker green.. i used the pen and then the blend

 

Step 8

after that i added lighter colours on smaller parts (pen and blend)

ok.. now for the t-shirt stripes.. first a darker colour

after that, with the air brush, i'll add a lighter colour

the same method for the shoes.. first with the pen and blend for the shades and then the air brush for the light

i almost forgot to make his mouth XP

now his jacket.. like in the previous steps.. first a darker colour for the shades.. pen and blend used

now a more darker colour for some parts of it

now for the light.. air brush used

for the t-shirt and pants i used the same method as for the jacket

now the hair..more work then the rest.. first i used a size 1 pen because after using the blend tool will appear some effects

after using blend i put a more darker colour

ok..now a lighter blue

 

Step 20

after i'm done with the blend tool it's time for the air brush to make the passage between dark and light.. i used a darker and a lighter blue for this and white too

the character is done.. still working on layer 1 i'll make the background

i used a colour so the character can be observed

now i started to play with the pen.. i made some lines and then the lines came out looking like branches

using air brush i put a lighter red on the branches

after that i searched for the texture palette

after i selected the texture that i wanted i used air brush with a smaller opacity for the background
