Well, hopefully this'll be better than my last attempt. Everyone asks how I do it, so here we go!
Step 1This is what the lineart looks like. Credit goes to the amazing Hairei for the lineart, i got it from her lineart club ^_^
Step 2I always do the background first. It's beacuse (from experience) if done after you've colored, it's hard to make. don't ask ._."
Step 3Now, i'll start with the left girl. Her name's Leftie. I start with Leftie's skin by picking a compatible color. You can make it comapatible with the background, but you don't have to.
Step 4now we add shading to Leftie! Pick a tone lighter and mark the areas highlighted. do it till you add 3 or 4 shades darker.
Step 5Now, pick the blend tool (not smudge because it'll sometimes smudge the wrong color) and blend the colors. Apply the darker to lighter first, the use the light shade to go over the dark shade.
Step 6Your pic should be blended like so! :)
Step 7Of course, we can't forget rightie! Do steps 3-6 on her! I labled my layer skin2, so i know i'm doing the second girls' skin!
Step 8I'm mentioning this now, sorry, that whatever you won't color again, erase the stray marks. EX: Erase whatever part of skin that got on the background, cuz you won't recolor it (yea, laziness).
______________________________
do hair now, and it's basically the same. Usually, i add hair shine, but this pic doesn't need it.
Step 9Erase! Erase! Erase! Do it till there's no stray marks! :D
Step 10K, now i like to merge down what I'm doing into one layer. So whatever you're doing for leftie should be in 1 layer. I'm calling this layer girl 1.
Step 11Let's do Rightie. Again, repeat steps 8-9 or 3-6.
Step 12Moving on to clothes. this step had about 3 layers, I'll explain why.
Step 13the finished outfit looks like this. 1 layer is the main part, 2nd layer for buttons, and 3rd for straps. I already started on Righties outfit.
Step 14This is what the 3 layers are. Don't forget to merge down!
Step 15Looking good now! keep it up! :DDDD
Step 16Now for eyes. I have variations for eyes, this time I pick a light shade, then put a dark one above. Woe is explained next.
Step 17Woe means White.Of.Eyes. I color the whole thing the erase.
Step 18See that blue shade in the woe? It's cuz when I add the shine (those whites dots) the blue makes the shine pop out.
Step 19Leftie has a turn too! XD
Step 20Hmmm...teeth next!
Step 21And here's our finished product! comment on my page if this was helpful to you! :3
