Step 1

First, you need to remove layer 1 and add layer 2, 3, and 4.

Step 2

Now, go onto Layer 3. Make a rough sketch of what you want to draw. I will draw a neko.

Step 3

Now, go on Layer 4. On the pen tool, go on size three and full opacity. Draw an outline over the sketch.

Step 4

Now press the little black circle next to Layer 3. Your sketch will not be visible. DO NOT DELETE LAYER 3! You might want to add some things later. Now erase anything you don't want.

Step 5

Now on Layer 2 color in your lineart.

Step 6

Now for the shading. Using an opacity around 20-25, go around inside the edges (turning on Lock Alpha will make this easier) using darker shades of each color.

Step 7

Now add any extra details you want :3

Step 8

YAY! Time for the fun part =w= Make Layer 5 and put it under Layer 2. You can make any kind of background you want. To make it interesting, go to view and then textures to get a bunch of different patterns such as leopard, checkerboard, etc.

And now, you're done!

Step 9

Thanks so much for using this tutorial! Please note that I have spent maybe two or three hours on this and I would like it a lot if you gave me a little credit if you have used this to make a drawing.
