Hello! =D This tutorial I made will show you how I draw and color Manga.
Step 1First, make a sketch. Do this by using one of the line tools-freehand, line, or bezier, (I used freehand for the characters and line for the window.) pencil tool, opacity on about 74. I also put the smoothing on 50%. Draw the sketch on layer 1, with layer 2 below it.
Step 2Then, draw over your sketch with one of the line tools, (I used bezier) pencil tool, opacity on about 140.
If there is anything you don't like about your sketch, you can fix it on this step! =D
Step 3Now it's time for the coloring! Move layer 2 up to the top and make two layers in between layers 1 and 2. On the lower layer you just made, color in your main background color. This will make it easier to color in anything that's white.
On the upper layer, start the coloring. Use the pencil tool on full opacity, and color in any characters in your drawing. It doesn't have to be perfect. Then shade by using the tool I circled, opacity about 32.
Use a few different shades, and then blend them with the Smudge tool to create a really nice shading effect! ^-^
Step 4Now I've done this with the rest of the colors on them.
Step 5To add lighting, just use the lighten tool on low opacity.
Now I've colored the window. I used the same steps as the rest of the coloring. On the glass I also added some white airbrush to make it look shiny.
Step 6Next, add highlights on the hair. I used pencil tool (circled). Draw a line on the hair, white on 90 opacity, and then a few more lines on higher opacity.
Step 7Now use smudge to blend these colors, and then draw a white line with pencil tool on full opacity, size 1, over the colors to make this effect.
Step 8Now, I've colored in the eyes with their base color (black.)
Step 9To add the details in the eyes, I used airbrush in the right colors. To add some sparkles, make small circles or ovals with white airbrush and make a small dot with pencil in the center. This makes it look shiny! =)
Step 10To make the cheeks, I used airbrush, on light pink. I used darker pink to shade a little, and then used smudge to blend it. Then, I used airbrush on white, and put a small dot in the middle like in step 9.
Step 11Finally, use the eraser to fix any color that came out of the lines, add some more details, and you're done! =]
