Step by step eye drawing tutorial. In this drawing tutorial I show you techniques I use to draw an eye.
Step 1First step: quick outline of the eye
Step 2Step two: Adding more detail the pupil and the eyelid. Don't forget to sketch in the line at which i am pointing with red arrow!
Step 3Step 3: add color
Step 4Step 4: Make the edges a bit more darker! Don't make it darker where the green arrow is!
Step 5Step 5: Add shading, but not to dark. Don't forget to blend in to lighter color where the blue errow is.
Step 6Step 6: add shading in the eye with airbrush. Not only on the outside but a bit near pupil.
Step 7Step 7: adding more light highlights with airbrush.
Step 8Step 8: Adding shade at the top of the Iris and more dark slimm detail at the side and near the pupil.
Step 9Step 9: Add shade but only at the bottom edge.
Step 10Step 10: Add shade..eye is never just white it will always have some shade (Before that, clean all the scetches around Iris and other wished places before adding shading).
Step 11Step 11: Where red arrows show make a bit lighter at the top but not near the eyewhite. Where blue arrow is make a bit darker and add a bit lighter at the top like blending in!
Step 12Step 12: I cleaned up where red arrow shows and added slightly darker color to outline better. I cleaned up the bottom line where blue arrows are
Step 13Step 13: Here is the first reflection in the eye, it must be very light and soft that you still can see the pupil and iris a bit.
Step 14Step 14: The second reflection layer is white it can be broke in some places or be round, your choice!
Step 15Step 15: The reflection of the eyelashes...never forget that, always look closely what is in the eye, otherwise it will not look real.
Step 16Finishing Step: The eyelashes! Eyelashes never go same direction, some will be sticking out and some almost falling out!
Step 17How you shouldn't do eyelashes!!! The eye is NOT A CENTIPEDE!! (please ignore red)
