Step 1

-By using the filling tool and reducing the transparency (to around the 20's depending on the color you are utilizing ) you can create the base of the flame you wish to draw.
_The base does not have to be perfect, later on you may alter it and determine the shape of the flame you desire to draw!

Step 2

-Now,that you have done the base, you will CHOOSE the COLOR of the flame or the second layer.

-For this second layer i CHOSE orange and FILL in the base with the filling tool.Again you will KEEP the TRANSPARENCY in the 20's.

Step 3

-After,you will DO the 3rd LAYER of the flame.I CHOSE red and along WITH the FILLING TOOL and TRANSPARENCY in the low 20's,fill in the flame.

_BUT!don't fill it in completely just, enough so we can notice the presence of the red color.

Step 4

-NOW,that you have finished the layers, you will begin adding the "detail".

-By using the 3rd and 2nd THICKNESS of the PENCIL,choose this mid YELLOW AND WHITE color.

-BEGIN coloring the EDGES of the flame!
-THEN go on with the SMALL flame, make it a LITTLE THICK as shown.

Step 5

-NEXT,choose a soft PINK color and KEEP the TRANSPARENCY and drawing TOOL the same (this color is just to show when the yellow and red flame combine)

-As you can see, JUST color SMALL PORTIONS of the flame.I suggest coloring SOME of the areas you did not color yellow.

Step 6

-(You may NOT DISTINGUISH much DIFFERENCE in this step with the 5th.)

-CHOOSE the SAME RED color you used in the 3rd STEP.Then with out making any changes with the tools but the color,COLOR in the AREAS you did not colored with the SOFT PINK,DO NOT color the TOP of the FLAME.

Step 7

-CHANGE TOOLS!to the FILLING TOOL.

-CHOOSE COLOR BLACK and make the TRANSPARENCY close to the 50's.

-NOW!COLOR AROUND the EDGES of the FLAME to HIDE the EXTRA colors you may have screw up on.

Step 8

NOW,this is in my opinion the FUN!part of the drawing.

-CHANGE TOOLS!to the AIRBRUSH TOOL.

-KEEP!the BLACK COLOR,and make the TRANSPARENCY to 100.(KEEP the THICKNESS the SAME to 3rd)

-NEXT!color the EDGES once more.UNTIL the EDGES look KINNA of SMOOTH.(I decided to change the right side of the flame to make it thinner BUT it is NOT necessary to do so)

Step 9

-CHANGE to PENCIL and to COLOR WHITE and make the TRANSPARENCY to 50 (leave the THICKNESS 3rd)

-COLOR in the SMALL FLAME with the PENCIL.

-CHANGE TOOL!to the FILLING TOOL!(do NOT CHANGE anything else but the TOOL,leave the color the SAME)

-With the FILLING TOOL color SOME of the TOP EDGES of the flame.

-CHANGE TOOL!to AIRBRUSH TOOL! and LEAVE the THICKNESS to 3rd(do NOT CHANGE anything else but the TOOL,leave the color the SAME)

-AIRBRUSH ON the areas you JUST COLORED WHITE.(this is to make the flame look like it's glowing and BURNING)

-CHANGE COLOR!to COLOR BLACK!CHANGE the THICKNESS to 5th and CHANGE TRANSPARENCY to 15.

-AIRBRUSH the RED AREAS!just to make them a LITTLE darker.

Step 10

-FINALLY!NOW with the AIRBRUSH TOOL!AIRBRUSH once again on the SMALL flame with COLOR WHITE.(MAKE the TRANSPARENCY to 50 and the THICKNESS 3rd)

-NEXT,JUST CHANGE to COLOR BLACK(leave everything else the SAME and color around the EDGES to make them look SHARP)
