How to deal with the transition of gradual change color?

I am a novice in painting, and I met some trouble recently. I don't know if you   encountered this problem when you started to learn painting. I always can't handle the transition between the two colors whenever I deal with the color of the sky and water. I don't know whether the problem is come from the color matching I made is not good enough, or I failed to master the skill. As I am a self-taught amateur, not specifically to learn. Hope someone can help me to answer.
Have a nice day!

Re: How to deal with the transition of gradual change color?

I'd recommend choosing colors that are in the middle and gradually mixing them in between. The more colors the smoother it will look. If you take a regular photograph taken by a camera and zoom into the pixels you'll notice that it's the same just way more gradient.
