Behavior reminder - let's be happy in 2010

There has been an excessive amount of unnecessary aggression by a small group of people in the community recently, in particular people posting conversational debates on other peoples profile comments. I want to remind everyone about our behavior guide:

Many of these topics have been around discussing drawings or content that people do not agree with. The correct action when you see a drawing that you do not feel is appropriate in some way is to post in the "inappropriate content" forums. It is the job of our moderators to review these reports and remove content that we feel is unfit. If a drawing has been reported and reviewed, and is still on our website then please do not complain to the artist - they are fully within the rules of our website. If you disagree about the subject of the drawing, then you are more than welcome to express your concerns to us - not the artist.

Certain subjects are very sensitive and often lead to debates - such as religion, sexual preferences, politics, etc. so please keep this in mind and remember that this is not what our community is best at, so please think before posting content of this nature. We don't not allow these subjects, but there is a high chance that once we see topics like this discussed and people are getting unfriendly in their discussion then we may delete such content.

I also want to remind everyone that profile comments are very precious to many users - it is where we all go for encouragement and inspiration and get that tingly feeling inside when people post encouraging messages. This is not the place to complain and debate topics such as if you do not like someone's drawing.

If a member is posting aggressive or unfriendly content, then you are not taking into consideration our behavior guide and in worst cases your account could be banned. If you are sending private messages to a member to discuss a sensitive subject that leads to an argument then please stop and think twice before you reply. Delete any messages like this and simply ignore the user. By constantly responding you are only leading towards harassment (another reason you could be banned). It takes two people to cause a dispute and only one person to end a dispute and it is as simple as ignoring.

New Years are a time of new resolutions and I hope that everyone can focus on what we all love the most about RMD, which is the friendliness of our community. We really do not like having to enforce bans and it is disheartening to see people let unfriendly debates become a reason they cannot share their art with the world.

The best way to support our community is to just keep drawing - even if it's for fun and not serious. Another way is by taking time to occasionally rate and comments drawings by new or learning artists.
