How I color

Tutorial of how I color :D ~♥

Light by KittyRo

Step 1

Here we have the lineart~ It was made on another layer of course and on the first I colored with that dark color so I'll see the lighter colors better when I get to that part xD

Step 2

Now I make a layer UNDER the lineart layer. Then I color it xD And the eraser tool might be a good friend as you should erase those parts that will be visible after the drawing is finished~

Step 3

Now I draw the shades on the same layer as the normal skin tone using Lock Alpha as you can see in the screnshot so I won't draw outside of the 'limit' 8D ( don't pay attention to the layers D:). For a better effect you can make those on another layer just above the skin one :D Buuut let's continue here~

Step 4

Here I draw the shades according to the lighting I chose. You can draw them in the wrong place very easy... D:
In this example you let a little place uncolored and you'll see why in the next step~

Step 5

THIS! Oh how I love the watercolor tool D: I used it to 'blend' that uncolored part to give it a cooler look :D I started using this tool a little late, foolish me~

Step 6

Now with some other darker color and with the same awesome tool I made the darker shades :D

Step 7

Here is all the skin colored. In some parts you may have to use the watercolor tool or those 2 tools that I don't use that often, blend and smudge to make the drawing more... real? :D

Step 8

The hairrr! :D I color it first from the tips c:

Step 9

The airbrush tool is also awesome :D With lock alpha of course I colored like this for a nice effect :D You can skip this step but you can also make it better by using more colors c:

Step 10

I drew the shades on the same layer as the hair (though at the hair is more recomended on another layer, in my opinion, even if I don't use it much) I use the same 'technique' as in the 4th and 5th step with the watercolor tool. Also using more colors makes it look good if you use them right xD
I then draw the simple, messy lighting that we wil change on the next step~

Step 11

Yay the blend tool! :D I make the messy-looking lighting look better >8D Now they should look more smooth :3

Step 12

Here it is, the finished hair. I used some airbrush here and there :3

Step 13

Now I'll show you the finished cloak :) The 'hard' thing at clothes are those... those folds! Dx You have to know where to place them which is the tricky part D: But if you get them right, they look good :3 I used the pen and then watercolor of course xD

Step 14

And this is all, folks! :D
Sorry if it was too long or too short Dx It's my first ever tutorial D:
(Only skin, hair and a 'special' bonus since those are the usual troubles xD)
I hope it will help some people though :3
Happy drawing! :D ~♥
