A step by step procedure, detailing the process of drawing in a photorealistic manner.
In the beginning you start with a blank canvas. SET your tools in position and plug in your tablet or hold you mouse firmly.
Use the fill tool or brush aimlessly on the canvas until it is fully covered in an opaque color of your choosing.
Having a white canvas is intimidating.
Next, find yourself a reference.
For this tutorial I have featured a rose.
NOTICE: You don't want to create a bad drawing from a bad quality photo. You want to create something that looks even better than the photo.
Draw a simple sketch.
Do not over do it. Their is NO need to draw every pixelated detail.
Begin coloring the background.
NOTICE: Drawing the background and working yourself forward, is the traditional way.
NOTICEII: Use the layers to your advantage.
Next, you begin with color blocking.
Continuously look for the colors that match the reference and place blobs of that hue over the area.
NOTICE: You can use the layers to your advantage.
NOTICEII: This process will be a lot of trial and error, be sure to save your work.
Continue with adding shades of color.
NOTICE: Find the darkest and brightest areas and fill them in first
NOTICEII: Layer each new color and begin blending.
NOTICEIII: Do not worry about details at this stage, focus on getting the color correct and the shading blended.
At this step of the process you can begin to add details.
Details and subtle shading and highlighting will give your drawing a photorealistic image.
NOTICE: Having the background blurred will bring your main subject forward.
NOTICE11: Use the layers to your advantage.
NOTICEIII: The smudge tool is perfect for blending.
Once satisfied, you can begin with adding your own playfulness to the image.
NOTICE: flip the drawing horizontal or vertically for a new perspective.
NOTICEII: Keep your layers and merge them only once your near completing the drawing.
At last your at completion.
In my case, I decided to add drops of water for additive details. Don't be so hard on replicating the reference perfectly,
Add your own sense of style or creativity to the image.

NOTICEII: Give credit. Have fun.
